By Any Other Name is a delightful Regency Era romance from author Samantha Hastings. I absolutely adored this story! This book had great characters, an engaging plot, lots of surprises, and a beautiful message woven throughout. Hastings does not shy away from some of the hard topics that people faced during that time period, and I am grateful for that. I love that there are nods to both Jane Austen and Shakespeare in this as well.

Jenny and Peter are absolutely adorable! I love how Peter is so determined to win Jenny’s hand and that he doesn’t give up. Jenny went through so much, and he’s such a great comfort to her even when she’s not so sure about things.

If you enjoy a swoon worthy romance, historical fiction, and nods to literature, I think you will enjoy this one! Highly recommend!
