Another book that I’ve read recently, that completely surprised me in a good way! The perfect book for sci-fi and time travel fans, Cut Her Out in Little Stars will leave you wanting more. There’s great world-building and there’s lots of potential for the sequel to expand on it. There’s action, adventure, and romance, so add to your TBR today!

Cara DeLeon so wants to get out of NYC. She’s stuck in a job that she’s not crazy about, and with a boyfriend that she feels is not “the one.” She feels that her life is totally mundane. The story feels like a typical romcom in the beginning, but hold on for the ride! There’s a tragedy that strikes in the subway, and Cara finds herself transported to the future, but not the one that she’d hoped for. Her old life starts to feel like only a memory now, and nothing is as it seems. The future she finds herself in is on the brink of war, and she must learn to navigate in this strange new world.

Nikolas Caine is the Commander of the Confederation Fleet, and he has dedicated his life to protecting the star system, while also running from the demons of his past. His ship is attacked by Hostiles, or space raiders, and Cara is discovered on board his ship. Her arrival sets into motion a whole chain of events that will forever alter his world.

Cara begins to uncover some dark secrets that not only endanger her life, but the lives of the entire star system. She must take a stand if she wants any chance of returning to her family. Battling the looming war and his growing feelings for Cara, Caine needs to finish his mission. Cara also finds herself falling for the one man that is set on sending her back home to the past. As Caine’s demons catch up with him, Cara finds herself grappling with her future.

I really enjoyed the unfolding of Cara and Caine’s relationship. If you love a slow-burn, then you will definitely enjoy. I feel like the pacing of the book started out a little slow, but then it really picked up and kept me engaged. There are also some violent scenes that were a little hard to read at times, but they were an important part of the story and to character development.

After that ending, I need the sequel like now! I’m looking forward to more in this amazing world that Daniele Kasper has created.

About the Author:

Daniele Kasper’s travels have taken her around the world and back again, but her favorite adventures will always be found between the covers of a good book. From rescuing dolphins in the Florida Keys, to getting chased by grizzly bears in Alaska, Daniele has taken her adventures and used them as inspiration for her writing. Eventually, she married a horse trainer and settled down in central Michigan. She is now a farm girl with her husband, The Cowboy. They have four rescue dogs, a multitude of cats and chickens and a couple of cowponies. Daniele loves reading and writing fantasy and science fiction. She also loves all things Outlander and Disney, can’t grow a garden to save her life and occasionally moonlights as an elementary teacher.20922677
